Tim Park

Cellist Tim Park was praised for his energetic performances as well as his expressive and beautiful sound. Tim enjoys a multifaceted career, and his achievements as a concert soloist, orchestral and chamber musician have brought him to concert halls and stages in over 20 countries. Tim has performed with the New York Chamber Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, Tel-Aviv Camerata, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, National Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela and Philharmonic Orchestra Asia, for to mention only a few. In 2013, he received the S&R Foundation Grand Prize in Washington. Born to Korean parents, Tim Park began studying music at the age of 8. At the age of 11, he was admitted to the Juilliard School of Music in New York.
During his studies, he won first prizes in national and international competitions, which led to his concert debut with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra at the age of 13 and his recital debut in New York a year later. He later studied medicine and music at Yale University. At the invitation of cellist David Geringas, Tim moved to Germany, where he completed his studies at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin. As a passionate chamber musician, Tim has collaborated with some of today's leading artists at music festivals around the world. He plays a cello made by Gennaro Gagliano of Naples, built in 1740.
